Seafloor Elements concentrates its capital where it matters — the robots and the field — and partners for the rest.
Seafloor Elements is a Miami, Florida company formed to collect polymetallic nodules from the deep seabed and turn them into a secure American supply of nickel, cobalt, copper and manganese. We believe these metals can be sourced with the lowest practicable impact — and that the way to earn the right to operate is to design for it and prove it with data.
Vessels are chartered. Processing is tolled to established refiners. Our capital concentrates on what differentiates us: the custom robotic collection system and access to the field. It is a deliberately disciplined structure that avoids the heavy, vessel-first balance sheets that sank earlier deep-sea ventures.
Rather than buy an off-the-shelf machine, we are commissioning a collection system purpose-built for our operating conditions through a custom robotics partner. The system is engineered to the Best Available Technology standard, validated through a staged lab-to-pilot test programme, and supported through its operating life — with acceptance criteria gating every milestone.
